Why register copyright?
According to the copyright law, copyright exists as soon as you've put your creative work, let's say a song, into some tangible form. This means you are the copyright owner right from that time onwards.
That's excellent! Your song is protected.
Now you'd like to make your song available to the public. So, you decide to put it on a website from where people can buy it. That still looks excellent.
One day someone decides to put your song on his or her website and sells it as being their song. This looks far from excellent.
Now you need to prove that you're the actual creator of the song. For this reason you need to have a date and time proof that your work existed earlier. This is where the importance of copyright registration comes into play. Had you registered it by an independent third-party copyright service like Copyright House, then that would prove your ownership of the song.
Proof of copyright is therefore essential and registration should be done before you publish, give out or show your work to anyone else. Better don't wait until it's too late. Register your artwork, musical composition, design, literary work, or any other copyright work that you own through Copyright House's copyright service and enjoy peace of mind.
The purpose of registering copyright is to serve as a proof that you are the actually creator of any creative, artistic or literary work. Even if the work is not yet finished, registration is important. With Copyright House you can upload your final version, or updates at a later stage at no extra cost. Registering copyright at different stages of evolution of your creative work shows its natural development and this adds to the proof that you are the owner of it.
